A note from Mrs. Barnes—
As parents begin guiding and training children when they’re really young, the word “NO” is often used. “No, don’t touch that! No, you can’t have that! No, don’t put that in your mouth!” You get the point. My suggestion is whenever you can say, “Yes” you should. Children typically assume that if they don’t hear “No”, that it means “Yes”. They need to actually hear the positive “Yes” word sometimes so that it’s not ingrained that parents always say “no”, they often say “yes” as well.
