Why should parents read to their children?

I’m sure everyone knows that reading to your child is a good thing to do, but have you considered all of the wonderful benefits?  The list below was taken from an article, 10 Reasons Why You Should Read to Your Kids, from EarlyMoments.com.  Check it out if you would like to see the article in its entirety.

September 30th:    What the Bible Says About Parenting:  Setting the Groundwork

October 7th:           Love and Logic Curriculum:  Putting an End to Arguing, Talking Back, and Begging

October 14th:           Love and Logic Curriculum:  Teaching Responsibility without Losing Their Love

October 21st:          Love and Logic Curriculum:  Setting Limits Without Waging War

October 28th:         Love and Logic Curriculum:  Avoiding Power Struggles

November 4th:         Love and Logic Curriculum:  Guiding Kids to Own and Solve Their Problems

November 11th:          Love and Logic Curriculum:  Teaching Kids to Complete Chores, Without Reminders, Without Pay

November 18th:        Review and Wrap Up Discussion

Classes will meet from 12:30-1:45 in the new Media Center (new building next to the business office)

Feel free to bring a lunch and eat during the meetings.  Note sheets and writing utensils will be provided.

First Session- PreK through 5th grade

  • 7:30-7:55 Pictures in Puppet Theatre
  • 8:00-9:00 Program in the gym
  • 9:15-10:30 Reception in the Cafeteria and time in classrooms
  • 10:30-11:30 Another opportunity for pictures and visit the Book Fair

Second Session- Academy and High School

  • 9:00-9:55 Pictures in Puppet Theatre or High School Hall
  • 10:00-11:00 Program in the gym
  • 11:00-11:30 Reception and Book Fair in cafeteria, another opportunity for pictures in the High School Hall
