Chapel Blog September, 2014

During September, we will dive into the Scripture found in Ephesians 2:10.”For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” This month’s theme focuses in on the fact that God created us to be creative and He wants us to use our creativity to glorify Him!

Below is a snapshot as to what your child will learn during this month:

Creativity:  Using your imagination to do something unique.

September 2 – Bible Story:  Creation (Genesis 1:1-2:1)

Bottom Line:  You were created, so you can be creative.

September 9 – Bible Story:  Moses & Miriam (Exodus 1:22-2:10)

Bottom Line:  Use your imagination to think big.

September 16 – Bible Story:  David’s final words (2 Samuel 23:1-2)

Bottom Line:  Use your imagination to make your mark.

September 23 – Bible Story:  Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:14-16)

Bottom Line:  Use your imagination to do even better things.

September 30 – Bible Story:  Believers share life together (Acts 2:42-47)

Bottom Line:  Imagine what could happen if everyone used their gifts together.

This month, remind your children that they are unique – there is no one else in the whole world like them!  And because of that, God created them for a purpose.  In today’s society, it is easy to settle for the “status quo.”  As parents, we need to challenge our children to use their creativity (gifts and talents) to the best of their ability.  God has a plan for them, and we are thankful that we can partner with you as this plan unfolds.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14

Zero the Hero

Zero the Hero came to visit today on the 10th day of school!

zero the hero 002

We celebrate every 10 days of school with ZERO!
This is our song:

Zero the Hero, he’s so cool!
Zero the Hero, knows the Golden Rule!
Zero the Hero saves the space,
so all the other numbers
can stay in their place! Yeah!

Make sure to ask your child about this fun time!

Chapel at SRCS…

August, 2014

Students at SRCS have the opportunity each Tuesday morning to attend Chapel.  This is a time for our students to come together to worship our Heavenly Father, and to learn more about Him.  Each month, we have a different virtue/theme that we explore.  During August, we will discuss the importance of “contentment.” Below is a snapshot as to what your child will learn during this month:

Contentment:  Choosing to be happy with what you have.

August 5 – Bible Story:  Forbidden Fruit (Genesis 3:1-13, 23-24)

Bottom Line:  When you want what you shouldn’t have, it can lead to trouble.

August 12 – Bible Story:  Bread Whiners (Exodus 16:2-21; 17:1-4)

Bottom Line:  When you want what you had before, you miss what you have now.

August 19 – Bible Story:  The Grapes are Always Greener (I Kings 21:1-19, 27)

Bottom Line:  When you want what someone else has, it can make you miserable.

August 26 – Bible Story:  Don’t Worry.  Be Happy. (Matthew 6:25-30)

Bottom Line:  When you trust God, you don’t have to worry about tomorrow.

We are glad that we can partner with you in developing your child’s relationship with Jesus Christ, the Strong Rock!
